ASAP 2009 V2R2 Now Available
Jan 12, 2010
We are excited to announce that the ASAP(r) 2009 V2R2 release is now available to users with current Software Maintenance Agreements. The ASAP 2009 V2R2 release adds significant capability to the program well known to the optics industry as the most sophisticated tool available for virtual prototyping of optical systems and devices.
New features and enhancements in ASAP 2009 V2R2 include Geometry Shrinking, Ray Export, over 30 new LED and xenon source models added to the BRO Light Source Library, as well as other software repairs and enhancements.
ASAP 2009 V2R2 Features and Enhancements
- Geometry Shrinking - A new Shrink Geometry option allows users to remove unnecessary surface trimming information contained in imported CAD geometry files -- a proprietary process that optimizes imported system geometry for ray tracing.
- Ray Export - A new Ray Export feature, allows users to export rays in an IGES file format using the same tools for exporting optical system geometry already present in ASAP. The exported file may contain anywhere from a single ray up to the limit of the total number of rays traced.
- Light Source Library Additions - Over 30 source model additions come with the ASAP 2009 V2R2 release, including OSRAM LEDs, CREE LEDs, and HiPerVision xenon sources.
We appreciate your continued business and look forward to providing you with enhancements to your optical design environment. Customers must have a current Maintenance Agreement and an existing hardware key to install the updated release.
